Football Commercials

As we’re nearing the Super Bowl, I wanted to take a moment and look at some truly great recent football ads.

Usually this is where I put some clever commentary, but do to the fact that my right eye is swollen up, I’ll make it brief. Whatever your feelings about them on the field are, off the field, these three are some seriously funny guys. In fact, if Peyton Manning wanted to retire from football and just do comedy, I’d more than support it. And if Troy Polamalu wanted to leave the Steelers and join a different team, like say, I dunno… the Titans… well I guess I’d support that. What’s that? You say you’ve seen through my ever so clever subterfuge? Hmm, must make an escape… Hey look, Favre!

  1. Seriously though … the polamalu and manning commercials are pretty fantastic. The favre one I can go either way on.

I’d like to see a peyton manning jazzercise video. Or maybe a re-make of Willow, where peyton plays all the parts. I think either of those could be a real hit.

Yeah the Favre commercial is kind of a one off laugh and generally something I’d sort of rip apart, but as I stated I was dealing with the eye thing and that made me lazy. Plus I love Favre, so he deserved a nod.

The scary thing about Manning is he would probably go for any of the suggestions you made. The scary thing about me is that I would probably watch them. I would go into it knowing how bad it would be, but the thought of seeing Peyton on his knees trying to play Warwick Davis’s part… awesomeness.
